We love having people on our trips. However, what we do can sometimes be dangerous if we are not careful. You are strongly advised to read the full Field Trip rules: Field Trip Rules.

Copper Country Field Trip - Cliffs Mine in Phoenix
September 17th, 2022

Shopko Hometown/Ace Hardware parking lot @ 7am, leaving 7:30

This is a trip we're coordinating with the Copper Country Rock and Mineral Club. It will be free for people who have volunteered with the club, and $25 for anyone else interested. We leave at 7:30pm. Please reach out by email to Bev if interested. You should already be messaged if your fee is waived.

Regular Meeting
September 18th, 2022

Cliffs Shaft @ 1:30pm

A regular club meeting with a special guest. Scott Markert, founding Member and son of the Founders of the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club (Bob and Marian Markert) will speak on the history of the Ishpeming Rock and Mineral Club. Scott will tell us how the club was formed, its history and what collecting rocks and minerals was like in the early years. Scott will also tell us about his recent trip to an iron mine in Cornwall, England. All of the Silent Auction Minerals for this meeting will be provided by Scott. Followed by the club business meeting.

October 16th, 2022

Cliffs Shaft @ 1:30pm

A regular club meeting with door prizes, a silent auction and a presentation from John Gilner, local Collector and Avocational/Amateur Archaeologist regarding "Identifying Native Stone Artifacts". He will bring some of his collection to show us the Artifacts that he has found. Followed by the club business meeting.

Regular Meeting / Annual Member Show and Tell Program
November 20th, 2022

Cliffs Shaft @ 1:30pm

A club meeting with door prizes, a silent auction and show-and-tell! This will be an opportunity to show your summer’s collected rock treasures and share your rock collecting tales. Members will show off their new treasures and a panel of Club Members will be available to help identify local rock and mineral specimens brought by members and visitors. All members are encouraged to partake. Followed by the club business meeting.

Annual Christmas Dinner and Meeting
December 4th, 2022

River Rock Lanes and Banquet Center @ 5pm

Jack Deo of Superior View Photography will present “A Historical Trip through the Upper Peninsula.” He will share photographs of his choice of U.P. History and Mining. The Christmas Dinner will follow, concluded by the yearly Officer Elections.
